Carer’s Event held at South Aston URC

The various stalls around the large hall were staffed by people from the following organisations: -

The Fire Brigade brought a Fire Engine and also there was an appliance outside telling the public how to manage the change to digital TV transmission.
There were also two aromatherapists and a Laughter Clinic.
In the kitchen were members of the Church who did a marvellous job making sandwiches and drinks for everyone concerned.
Also there were members of the Church signing people in and giving them free raffle tickets.
I received 90 raffle prizes some were meals out, others were tickets for theatres. There were numerous signed photos from stars of screen and television. Also there were lots of signed books from famous people.
Analysis of
the registration forms show that 136 people attended, 46 men and 90 women. The largest age group represented was the over 55s. There were nine ethnic/cultural groups represented, the largest two being white British and people from the Indian sub continent. It was also good to see people from the Caribbean, Africa and China.
